They are really into bling. I live near the infamous Bicester Village, where the majority of shoppers are Chinese tourists. Some of them actually think that they are seeing an authentic English village.

Still, no worse than certain US tourists who are seeing Europe for the first and (thankfully) last time.

I did hear that in the Port of Tianjin, were some of the big cruise company’s have started doing cruises and attracting a good portion of the locals, that the government has put up big posters in Chinese urging them not to embarrass the country and to be a bit more civilised and friendly to there fellow cruise passengers.

The posters then go onto list varies dos and don’ts when visiting varies ports, included in the don’ts is things like gobbing in public, hiring prostitutes and not getting drunk!!!

If its true or not I don’t know but made me laugh and have heard the government is aware of how there population is perceived overseas, so could well be true.

Re: Chinese Tourists
They are a funny lot in my opinion, if they don’t know you they come across as you have stated, and all the gobbing and spitting in Public you see on the streets of China really is disgusting as are there table manners and all the yelling they seem to need to do, and they haven’t got a clue how to queue for anything either its just a big scrum BUT if you are there guest and Particularly in China, they are to be fair very generous, hospitable and welcoming.

All the Chinese I know who live in Sydney its similar, out and about and they don’t know you, your just another big nosed whitey, but if you know them or have done them a favour, you’re a revered friend and they cant do enough for you.

I did a reference for a Chinese guy who did some work for me, he was very good so no problem with doing it, he got the job, next thing a bottle of Johnny Walker blue arrives for me and when ever I see him he greats me as if I was some sort of revered celebrity, all a bit over the top and weird if you ask me, a simple thanks for that would have done.

Package tour ponces.

There are fucking millions around the world taking holidays and very few, if any spend locally.

They swarm all over the tourist spots taking pictures but keep their hands deep in their pockets. They've paid full-board so every meal is taken back at the hotel and none of the local traders benefit from them being there.

Indians are the same in that respect, but saying that is probably fucking racist.

Re: Chinese Tourists
Mainland Chinese tourists have an awful reputation, but as far as I'm aware, the Chinese from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore etc are fine. Many of them also actively dislike and are embarrassed by mainlanders.
